Today the Blue Angels are doing their warmups over Lake Washington. I can hear them over my office - it almost makes the building shake. Instead, I'm waiting for our clients to get here. We're taking them out for sushi. Isn't tea really pretty when it slowly steeps?

It's funny how if the space I'm in is cluttery, my mind gets cluttery. For instance, if I have piles of books on my floor and clothes strewn about, no matter how hard I try, I won't be able to concentrate on what I'm reading. There's such a thing as messy silence. And my blog was getting silently messy.

I'm inwardly pleased today because I'm buying an iBook from a friend. I'll have to get some white sunglasses to go with it. I don't even know the specs! And I don't care! All I care about is that I'll get to record my thoughts at 83 wpm.

I just found that on my computer. From whom? I can't remember. But it makes me laugh.

Ok. Bye.

weird

Don't ask me how, but I think I just pulled a muscle in my tongue.

Kona: July 12 - 19, 2006

Last week I got to take a trip to Hawaii for my job. We take our clients every summer and just hang out for a week. It was a wonderful time! I took over 300 pictures, it was so hard to choose just a few. The big island is such a beautiful place, I hope these pictures communicate the uniqueness and diversity of the island. Fact: 13 of the 16 climates of the world are on this one island. One minute it looks like you're on the moon, steamy sulfur escaping the cracked ground; the next minute you see rolling, wet hills; the next you're in a palm-filled tourist trap.

This is the view from Bubba Gumps resturant.
Cruise ship off the coast of Kailua-Kona.
Hawaiian gods that were worshipped at The Place of Refuge.
The Painted Church. The entire ceiling/walls are beautifully painted with murals depicting scenes of Christ's ministry on Earth.
These are my toes in a black sand beach.
Lava tubes.
Hapuna Beach Resort: serves the best Japanese dinner here!
Sunset.

This is a sunrise shot from the airplane. It's the northern Washington coastline, with the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north. The entire flight home the big dipper was right out my window, and I saw a lot of shooting stars.

Jen's Birthday

On July 3rd, the world celebrated the life of Jen Staab. Err... at least the handful of us that followed her up to Camano Island.

Please enjoy the photos I took - I picked out my favorites.

Here I begged Jen to pick up a crab head. She was very brave and did it.

I caught this one as Jen was flying by, mid-air!

If you can't tell, these are railroad tracks. They appear out of nowhere, and head straight into the sea.

Down at the end of this beach, we kept seeing 2 bald eagles.

I felt like a stalker taking these next two photos, because Rosie and Esther were having a quiet moment, and didn't know I was there.

But seriously, how worth it was it?... I absoultely really like this picture.

I'm bugged that this one isn't straight, because it's so nice.

Mad found a crab claw and thought it would be fun to pretend like it bit hard on her finger. She's a great actress!

There are no words for this.

I really love the colors in this photo - how the sparkler and the sky just pop out.

The Adventures of Jill and Rose

Grad Retreat 2005: We first started hanging out here, and realized we're both posers.

October 2005: We took a long weekend on San Juan Island. We found a camel & I got to pet it.

Jill spotted a seal. It was stuck up on the rock, waiting for the tide.

Fall 2005: Pike Place Market. More posing.

But not before we ate donuts. Not just any donuts - maple bars.

Christmastime 2005: For my company dinner, we went to PF Changs downtown, and did the horse buggy rides...Jill was my date!

More to come.....

Per my most faithful blog readers request [Jen Staab], I'm updating my post.

I've been up since 1:30 in the morning, and I'm a bit loopy.

Here's a small rundown of my life since my birthday:
- I decided I'm going to start looking for a new job.
- Made a homemade fettuccini alfredo dinner for the Somers. Jewel was sick, and didn't get to try it. Seth gave me two thumbs up, then didn't eat any. Rod ate everybody's leftovers. One out of three isn't bad, right?
- Took a day to visit two of my dearest friends, Allison & Jenny, in Aberdeen. It made my month!
- Renewed my drivers license. I look mad.
- I've been hanging out with my sister a lot. She's incredible.
- Revolutione is going great. "virtua" is a new girl group we're starting on Wednesday nights. [Similar to Ziklag]
- God is doing a lot in my heart, much more than I could ever express in a bullet point blog.
- I learned how to ride a Razor Scooter. (tip: don't ride in flip flops)
- My twin LeiLani flew up from Cali. and I got to see her and her pregnant stomach a.k.a. Maximillion last weekend. Being in Maple Valley with all the girls again was so cool.

Mr. Cyclist

Seth and I took a little jaunt down to the local Arco station to pump up his bike tires yesterday. As we pulled up, a champagne mercedes pulled up at the same time with two guys in their early 30's. They got out and said we could go first.

Thanks, you can leave now.

The passenger came over and said "I'm a cyclist, let me help you." Seth: "ok".

No thanks, we can do it, and I doubt you're a CYCLIST.

It was taking him awhile to do it, so Seth and I kneeled down to get a closer look at what he was doing. BAM!!! It blew out right in our faces because Mr. Cyclist didn't know what he was doing, apparently.

I knew you weren't a cyclist.

"Oh man! I'm so sorry! I thought it said I could fill it to 60 lbs!"

You were wrong, mister. Adios.

Seth was devistated, I was incredibly annoyed, and the dude still tried hitting on me afterwards.

Moral of the story: If someone offers to fill up your tires, don't get too close to it, because it might explode in your face.
"Enjoy your words and make them well-seasoned, because you may have to eat them later."

The Neverending Story

What was your favorite movie as a kid? Mine was definately The Neverending Story.
